Dr. Alane, a chiropractor for ten years, views wellness as a balance of the physical, chemical, and emotional aspects of who we are as human beings. She utilizes the specialized techniques of Applied Kinesiology and Neuro-Emotional Technique in her practice to facilitate healing. Dr. Alane says, "My focus is removing blocks that inhibit people from living life to their fullest potential." In addition to practicing chiropractic, Dr. Alane has been a certified massage therapist since 1992 and a yoga instructor since 1994. Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET): A way to release the emotional or stress based blockages involved in a physical or psychological issue. NET, based on the five element theory of Chinese medicine, recognizes that each organ has an emotional component with a physiological connection. By visually holding the image of the emotional component of an issue the practitioner adjusts the corresponding spinal segments which allow release of any negative charge that can inhibit healing. Applied Kinesiology is an alternative medicine method used for diagnosis and determination of therapy. According to practitioners using Applied Kinesiology techniques, it provides feedback on the functional status of the body. AK is a practice within the realm of alternative medicine and is different from "kinesiology", which is the scientific study of human movement.

Applied kinesiology is presented as a system that evaluates structural, chemical, and mental/emotional aspects of health by using a method referred to as manual muscle testing alongside conventional diagnostic methods. The essential premise of applied kinesiology is that every organ dysfunction is accompanied by a weakness in a specific corresponding muscle, the viscerosomatic relationship. Treatment modalities relied upon by practitioners include joint manipulation and mobilization, myofascial, cranial and meridian therapies, clinical nutrition, and dietary counseling.
