White Wood Ear Mushroom and Lily Bulb Herbal Soup

White Wood Ear Mushroom and Lily Bulb Herbal Soup is a delightful blend of nourishment and flavor, easily crafted for a nutritious experience. Note: Some of the ingredients are not commonly found in mainstream grocery stores. Look for them at Asian markets or order them online.

 

Ingredients

 
  • 1 cup dried white wood ear mushroom

  • 1/2 cup dried lily bulb

  • 1/2 cup lotus seeds

  • 10-12 red dates (jujube), pitted

  • 2 tablespoons goji berries

  • 8 cups water

  • Honey (optional, to taste)

 

Prepare

  • Soak the white wood ear mushroom in room temperature water until it becomes soft. Rinse and cut it into smaller pieces.

  • Rinse the dried lily bulb, lotus seeds, and goji berries under cold water.

  • Cut pitted red dates in half.

Boil and Simmer

  • In a large pot, add 8 cups of water and bring it to a boil.

  • Add the white wood ear mushroom, lily bulb, lotus seeds, red dates, and goji berries to the boiling water.

  • Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the ingredients are tender.

Sweeten (optional) and serve

  • If desired, add honey to sweeten the soup.

  • Once the soup is ready, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly. Ladle the warm soup into a bowl and enjoy!
